slancio a IFMCP

Attraverso il
movimento internazionale dei preti sposati, voglio ricordare con voi i bei
tempi della nostra International Federation of
Married Catholic Priests, fondata a Parigi nel 1986 con Pierre Lautrey e
Bert Peeters. Bert, ha una lunga
esperienza nei movimenti internazionali e ci ha suggerito di non affidare il
Comitato Esecutivo a più di sette membri, che dovranno vivere in aree
geograficamente limitrofe, per facilitare la corretta operatività della
fondazione. Altrettanto efficaci i suoi Congressi, fino al 2002 quando fu
stabilita la suddivisione di IFMCP in federazioni regionali. I quattro
presidenti delle quattro federazioni - , The four presidents of the four federations – dell’America Latina,
Filippine, Europa e Nord-Atlantica – avrebbero dovuto garantire da quel momento
lo svolgimento delle attività a livello internazionale.
Questo sistema non
ha funzionato. I quattro presidenti non si incontravano mai e il loro lavoro
tramite email non raggiungeva i risultati sperati. Non fu pensato né organizzato alcun Convegno internazionale. E non
furono neanche elaborati gli statuti delle confederazioni. Inoltre le quattro
singole federazioni non riuscirono ad ottenere visibilità, come quella che
abbiamo avuto ai nostri sinodi o congressi, a partire da quello di Ariccia.
La mia idea è
quindi la seguente: Non sarebbe una buona soluzione prendere spunto dalla
decisione presa a Leganès nel 2002 di rilanciare la Federazione Internazionale?
Solo uniti siamo forti. I rappresentanti inglesi furono sconfitti da Margaret
Thatcher, poiché tra loro c’era divisione. Propongo questa come mia iniziativa
personale, non per conto di NAF, dalla quale sono uscito a causa della sua
inattività di molti anni. Che il Signore ci accompagni e ci guidi sul percorso
che intraprenderemo.

Subject: Refounding the IFMCP
Dear friends:
In the international movement of
married priests, I want to remind you of the great days of our International
Federation of Married Catholic Priests,
founded in Paris in 1986 with Pierre Lautrey and Bert Peeters. He, Bert, had long experience in international
movements, and he told us, we should
not have more than seven members in the Executive Committee, and these should be living near to one another,
as to facilitate the functioning of the
federation. It did so with excellent Congresses, until 2002 when the subdivision of the IFMCP in regional
federations was decided. The four
presidents of the four federations - Latin American, Philippine,
European and North Atlantic - should
from then on guarantee the international activities.
This system did not function. The four
presidents never met, nor did the e-mail
correspondence have any results for joint activities. No international
Congress was held or even planned. Not
even the statutes for the Confederation were
elaborated. And the individual four federations, as well, did not
succeed to have great publicity, as we
had with our Synods and Congresses in Ariccia and later on.
My idea therefore is: Would it not be a
good conclusion to be drawn from the
small results of the decision of Leganès in 2002 to refound the
International Federation? Only united
are we strong. The English trade unions were defeated by Margaret Thatcher, because they were split
into fractions. I say this as my personal initiative, not in the name of the
NAF, from which I withdrew because of
its inactivity for more than two years. May the Lord be with us all and lead
our steps to be taken.
